11:30 a.m.: Registration

Registered attendees should check in for the event just outside of UIndy Hall in UIndy's Schwitzer Student Center. Guests will receive details from UIndy Assistant Professor of Art & Design Barry Barnes about a public art project they'll work on throughout the day.

12-1:15 p.m.: Keynote and Lunch With a Side of Clay, UIndy Hall B

Penny Balkin Bach, Executive Director of Association for Public Art, and Michael Kaufmann, Vice President of Civic Investment for Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County will engage in an INconversation during lunch.

1:15-1:30 p.m.: Break

1:30-2:30 p.m.: Changing Urban Areas through the Arts, UIndy Hall A

For the first 30 minutes, we'll hear from five different members of the arts community about five art ideas that have changed Indianapolis. Participants include:

• Richard McCoy, director, Landmark Columbus
• Julia Moore, director of public art, Arts Council of Indianapolis
• Mark Ruschman, chief fine arts curator, Indiana State Museum & Historic Sites
• Scott Stulen, curator of audience experience, Indianapolis Museum of Art
• Jim Walker, executive director and founder, Big Car

Then Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson will discuss the exciting ways that Gary is rebuilding itself through an arts-based place-making strategy.

2:45-3 p.m.: Break

3-4 p.m.: What's Next on Indianapolis's Arts Landscape?, UIndy Hall A

We'll find out what's coming soon to the Indianapolis arts landscape during a panel discussion moderated by Arts Council of Indianapolis President and CEO Dave Lawrence. Panelists include:

• John Barth, former Indianapolis City County Council at-large member
• Lewis D. Ferebee, superintendent, Indianapolis Public Schools
• Joanna Taft, executive director, Harrison Center for the Arts

4:15-5:30 p.m.: Public Art in Indy: Roland Hobart and a New Era in the City, CDFAC Art Gallery

The event will conclude with a reception and celebration in UIndy's art exhibition in Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center, where the gallery features "Public Art in Indy: Roland Hobart and a New Era in the City."

This event is free, but registration is requested.
